The pianist and poly-instrumentalist from Ravenna Christian Ravaglioli is a 35 years old classic musician, with a degree in piano and oboe, who has operated in various symphony orchestras such as the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra or the Santa Cecilia Orchestra. In his work the chambered component is central but the author shows to know musical areas (such as the searches of Zorn, who returns by praising highly on cover) which are much less attended by his colleagues. In addition to these, he relates with ethnic dimensions and rock sonority, in a various and stimulant route. The disc is composed by eleven musical pictures which explore different areas with as many organic (from the solo piano to the septet) maintaining a basic coherence in privileging the impressionist dimension and in the particular attention dedicated to the melodic one. Some pieces are sketch of radiant colours ("The Last Wood Child"), in others the exploration is more abstract and experimental ("Verso il segno," "Ilha grande") but the routes are well built and often suggestive. Pieces of more elaborated work are not missing such as the studied and imaginative "Melody Comes From" where different elements are compared: sonorous handling, the jazz bass clarinet of Achille Succi, the vocal participation of John De Leo and other else.
